Welcome to My Personal Page
I remember when Ricky Byrdsong was the mens' basketball coach at Northwestern University. I also remember when some whacked out Neo-Nazi was driving around Skokie looking for some non-Aryan subject to kill. He found his opportunity in an African American man walking with his children nearby his home. Mr. Byrdsong was murdered in front of his children.
Every year since then, over 20 years now, this atrocity is repeated many times over by people with hearts too small or shriveled to accept the Different among us. For these people E Pluribus Unum cannot be tolerated.
For the last 10 years I have stood up (and ran) against such intolerance. Every Father's Day, in memory of this man Ricky Byrdsong. Every year, acknowledging our nation's strength and beauty is because of, not in spite of, its diversity.
